Thing a Week #12 - Time to Leave Irish tour photos

For Thing A Week #12, we had plans to make a short video of our time traveling from London to Dublin this weekend - but in the absence of a good internet connection, we’re putting up some of the photos* we took along the way. Daniel & I drove for the best part of a day, with the car jammed full of everything we might need. Most of the things we need. It’s lucky that Ben’s following on this weekend, bringing the bits & pieces we’d forgotten. Ahem.

So far, promo week is going really well here. Interviewers are enthusiastic, listeners have given us an all-round thumbs up and - the icing on the cake - we’ve raised another £290 in the short time we’ve been here. That means that as of this week, we’re 26% financed!

Thanks so much for all the support, the emails wishing us good luck or welcoming us back to the country. We hope to see many of you in the crowd over the next fortnight.

-Kathryn, Daniel & Benji

*Since this isn’t the video we intended, we’d like you to play Boats (Swept Away) while you’re looking through the photos. Just since it was the track we’d planned to use as a soundtrack for this one…

Packing the car

You have to get up early in the morning, to pack a car this full of stuff.

Journey!

Journey!

Driving along in my automobile

The open road.

Sleepy

Daniel does the lion’s share of the driving, and takes a quick nap while we’re waiting to board the ferry.

Still waiting to board...

Still waiting to board…

Laptop

Having made this trip many, many times before, we were fully prepared for that long wait at the ferry port. We actually watched Family Guy, not just Daniel’s face.

Boarding at last!

And we’re off!

My beautiful blanket

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.

The pipes the pipes are calling

Saying goodbye to the UK

This is where boats would have sounded good

Making good time

You're a land ho!

Daniel welcomes all of you to Ireland. Even if this is only a virtual visit for you.

Harp

The centre of Dublin, where it all kicks off.
